The team announces partnership with De Rosa, Selle Italia, Nalini, & FSA Vision
Israel Cycling Academy has partnered with four of Italy’s strongest companies in the lead up to their upcoming groundbreaking season. With the 2018 Giro d’Italia traveling to Israel for the first three stages, the team has established relationships with De Rosa, Nalini, Selle Italia, and FSA Vison, all leaders in their respective fields.
Today the team travels to Cambrils, Spain to open their first training camp for the upcoming season, marking the first opportunity the riders will have to use their new equipment.
Ran Margaliot, team manager, said, “Our partnership with these Italian companies is a symbolic relationship. We see the upcoming year as the Year of Cycling in Israel due to the arrival of the Giro d’Italia in Israel. Having an Italian flavor is very exciting for us and hopefully we will be able to pay them back with an invitation to the Giro d’Italia, which we will know about that in a month or so. Italian brands like De Rosa, Selle Italia, Nalini, FSA and Vision are known for their quality--made in Italy is a statement--but also for their style. We like to think we have a unique style. It's very important for us as a team to try to represent modern cycling and to encourage people to see cycling as sexy and a very appealing sport so we would like to have this kind of flavor in our team. We hope with our Israeli team and the Italian standard of quality and style, we will be able to achieve amazing things.”
As part of a two year sponsorship deal, De Rosa will supply the team with three different frames. Sprinters will ride the aero SK Pininfarina, climbers will appreciate the lightweight King, and the all-around cyclists will opt for the versatile Protos.
CEO Cristiano De Rosa was impressed with Israel Cycling Academy, citing their ambitious goals. As the team waits to hear about receiving a wildcard invitation to the 2018 Giro d’Italia, De Rosa is optimistic. “I would like not only to participate, but to be protagonists.”
With its focus on fine details, Israel Cycling Academy will be well looked after wearing Nalini. For over forty years, Nalini has dressed cycling’s champions in tailor made clothes which emphasize comfort and technical superiority. The Italian kit manufacturer is proud to collaborate with Israel Cycling Academy.
Nalini commented, “This year we decided to partner with Israel Cycling Academy. The Giro starts from Israel to celebrate the 70 years of this country but also to celebrate human values which the cycling word needs to globally share.”
Selle Italia has been setting the standard for saddles since the 19th century. Their lengthy tradition and unparalleled experience have made them leaders in their field. Selle Italia’s innovative use of new materials and technologies helped led to their partnership with Israel Cycling Academy.
With a clear focus on research and development, FSA/Vision’s bicycle components and wheels are second to none. The team will ride the FSA Powerbox, a lightweight and power meter crankset. Echoing Israel Cycling Academy’s emphasis on teamwork and collaboration, FSA said “Your success is our success!”
ICA going Italian, looking very smart in your new kit and bikes, all the best for the future and best of luck getting into the Giro, stay strong.
